Author: Huyen Thanh Quan Mrs. Huyen Thanh Quan ( Nôm : 1805 - 1848 ), her real name was Nguyen Thi Hinh ; a woman in the modern Vietnamese literary history, well known as Lord of Nom literature
literally 'Southern characters') in earlier times also called Chữ Nam (𡨸南) or Quốc Âm (國音, "National sound"), was a logographic writing system used to write the Vietnamese language. It used classical Chinese characters to represent Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary and some native Vietnamese words, while new characters were created on the Chinese model to represent other words
Ms. Huyen Thanh Quan did not compose much, most of them were written in Nôm , according to the Han law form . The following articles:

Context composing
Mrs. Huyen Thanh Quan wrote this poem, after 1802, when Nguyen Anh ascended the throne, took the title Gia Long and settled in Hue . Since then, Thang Long had lost the central position of the country politically and culturally.
Subject: Poems depicting allegory scenes. The scene was mourning. Love was nostalgic. Pham The Ngu wrote: This article showed the author's scene before the ruin of the ancient capital of the North .

Some rare words in the poem can be understood as follows:
Theater: The chaos scene during the war
Tinh sương : cold foggy seasons
Autumn herb: Autumn grass.
Stones : might be a metaphorical representation of Mountain
Water : : might be a metaphorical representation of Rivers, Oceans.
Both elements create a portrait of a country.

Chú giải từ ngữ
Một số từ ngữ hiếm gặp trong bài thơ có thể được hiểu như sau:
Hí trường: Cảnh loạn lạc trong thời chiến
Tinh sương: Tinh là sao, sương là sương giá. Mấy tinh sương là mấy năm.
Thu thảo: Cỏ mùa thu.
Tịch dương: Mặt trời lúc chiều tối.
Đá : ẩn dụ trong văn chương như là Núi, Non
Nước : ẩn dụ trong văn chương như là Sông, Biển. Cả hai nhân tố tạo nên hình ảnh của một đất nước.
Đoạn trường: nỗi đau như đứt từng đoạn ruột, ý nói đau đớn
